We are situated in the rural countryside of Ross-shire just a short drive North from the City of Inverness, the heart of the Highlands. Inverness itself has a wide range of national and local shops plus a cinema, theatre, ice skating, go karting, swimming pool etc. and a good range of bars and restaurants.

The nearest towns to our properties are Alness and Invergordon, both have a range of shops. Alness has been a frequent winner of the annual Britain in Bloom and Scotland in Bloom competitions and has also been voted the small Scottish town with the largest percentage of independently owned shops. Be sure to visit our sister hotel, The Station Hotel in Alness.  Vouchers will be in the cottages for discounts off there delicious home cooked meals!

There are golf clubs at both Alness and Invergordon, and also Tain and Dornoch. We are also ideally placed to visit numerous distilleries at Glenmorangie, Glen Ord and Dalmore for example.

If whisky isn’t your thing, then we have fantastic castles nearby at Dunrobin and the famous Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness.

Around the properties is rural countryside and you are welcome to take a walk. Keep your eyes open and you will see red and roe deer, hares, pine martens, ospreys, red legged partridge, woodpeckers. In the evening you will see bats and owls.

We have two small fully stocked lochs and fishing can be arranged on request (at a small extra cost)
